Medical hypnosis is the use of hypnosis to treat medical issues. This type of hypnosis should only be utilized by someone who has a health care background.
Melvin Marsh has worked in the Emergency Room of Dekalb Medical in Atlanta for over a year, Gold Cross (an ambulance service based in Augusta), and was in medical school for a while. Not many hypnotherapists, except for MDs who perform hypnosis, have a medical background. Melvin currently has an active EMT-B license through the state of Georgia and is listed in the NREMT.
Melvin has assisted with chronic pain, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), wart reduction, and hypnobirthing, as well as surgical anesthesia. Melvin is also a certified Specialist in Attention Deficient Disorder (ADD/ADHD) Hypnosis as well as in Pre and Post Surgery Hypnosis.
Further, Melvin Marsh is one of the only hypnotherapists in the world who accepts clients with seizure disorders into the practice. As a fellow epileptic, his office is photosensitive friendly and he is sensitive to the transportation challenges of seizure activity. If an epilepsy patient needs an in-person appointment, but cannot attend due to recent seizure activity, please email and we will waive the house call fee.
Most forms of medical hypnosis will need a doctor’s referral, and Melvin will be more than happy to work as part of a medical team, both in-patient and out-patient.
